=====Other Thoughts====
My initial thoughts, truth be told were a bit skeptical. Having a background in Audio I was QUITE pleased when I saw that the packaged weight of the delivery containing the microphone, power supply, and stand was 8.5 pounds. I KNEW that the weight was going to be consumed in large by the microphone, and I was right in that educated guess. However I was at a slight bit of initial dismay when I began holding the cables, which I’ll elaborate on later in the video. To me the XLR cables felt great, but the power supply DC Adapter cable really left a large hole in my soul because of how utterly flimsy it was.
The NW-800 Microphone feels absolutely AMAZING! The body is either coated aluminum or plastic, and the Printed circuit board for the XLR connection is suspended in place by two metal rods running parralell to one another within the body, and connecting to the microphone head. From what I can tell it was a single die cast skeleton that’s holding everything together which further signifies a lot of thought went into the creation of this VERY cost-effective Microphone.
The power supply was much smaller than I assumed it would be, and actually fit QUITE comfortably directly underneath the bezel of my Acer 23″ Monitor that’s just a mere 3″ off the surface of my desk. The LED light as stated in other reviews IS very bright, but the screws on the face-plate for the LED are 2.5mm hex screws, and do NOT have a coating of any sort to “void a warranty” by removing, so I just took a small amount of masking tape across the inside of the plate over the light and now it has a VERY light respectable glow to it instead of shining in my eyes like a death ray.
