It took a bunch of force to get the second one in. It clearly wasn’t as sharp as the first one. These aren’t new stock, but they are SFS 12-24 Impax 5 (SD5) 1/4″ vs Buildex unknown model 5/16″. Both screws were subsequently and successfully re-used.
I was installing wire hangers onto a trailer and wanted to put a hang point on what happened to be the very thickest portion of the trailer (where the tongue triangle welds to the rectangular portion of the frame. I decided “what the heck, give it a shot” and discovered that these tappers are really badass! Too bad they generally cost so much, but DAMN they’re handy for the heavier work.
