www.GBToolsnz.com contacted me a while back to see if I would like to re-do my original WrightGRIP wrench video, where I compared the WrightGRIP to a Craftsman, Gearwrench, & SK wrench. In that video they all failed except for the WrightGRIP.
Both of these wrenches (Wright & Snap-on) are made 100% in the USA, and are very comparable in weight, performance, and quality. The Snap-on is slightly longer (by about 3/4″) & it has a 15 degree offset on the boxed end VS around a 7-8 degree offset with the WrightGRIP.
I personally think it boils down to brand preference with these wrenches, but you may want to take into account the offset on the boxed end, as well as the length that you prefer.
*** I used the satin finish WrightGRIP wrench for this demonstration, but Wright does offer the identical wrench in full polish if that is your preference ****
This sculpture was commissioned by Victor and Lee Teumer to enhance the offices of Hy-Grade Valve. The design is based upon the presentation image for Hy-Grade Valve, Inc. and incorporates a range of various materials. Numerous counterweighting mechanisms are concealed within the body of the sculpture; two on the vertical and tweo on the horizontal. A shield plate of patterned and polished stainless steel is formed by overlapping individual cut shapes with copper rivots on the seams. The structure of the ‘H’ consist of structural aluminum channel with deep vertival engraving and overlapping circular patterns. Several layers of transparent ‘smoke’ enamel give a grey/black tone with the engraving giving subtle visual texture. The central element of 2″ steel tube has rough engraving textures overlaid with two tone red enamels and accented with grade 8 gold hex bolts on the long axis.
