This short video will give you a quick overview of what is required to complete your Korky WaxFREE seal installation. The rubber seal contains a thick foam ring and a thin foam ring. You will need a wrench, putty knife, and ruler. Please keep in mind, if your closet flange is cracked or damaged, it must be repaired before installing WaxFREE Seal. We do not recommend using sealants. First, shut off the water supply by turning it clockwise. Remove the tank lid and set it aside. Then flush the toilet to empty the water inside of the tank and sponge out the remaining water left in the tank & bowl. Disconnect the water supply line. Next, take off any toilet bowl caps and unscrew the nuts on each side of the toilet. Lift up on the toilet and remove it. If a wax seal was used on the previous install, you will have to clean the closet flange and bottom of the toilet by scraping off any wax. Helpful hint: Prior to installation, place the toilet on the flange to determine if the floor is even. Shims may be needed beneath the toilet to stabilize prior to installing the seal. Now remove the old closet bolts. Install new bolts by twisting bolt heads to secure. Slide the plastic washers down to the base of the bolts to hold in place.

Next, determine the closet flange height relative to the finished floor. If the closet flange is above the finished floor, use the ruler on the instructions to determine the height above the floor. If the flange is one half inch or above remove the thick foam ring. If the flange is below one half inch above the floor, remove the thin foam ring. Watch for: If flange is three eights of an inch to one half inch above floor, read cautionary note in step 6 of the instructions. If flange is even with or below, use the full seal, with both the thick and the thin foam ring. For extra deep flanges of three eights of an inch below the finished floor, also use the full seal, both thick and thin foam rings. If the flange is three eights of an inch or more below the finished floor, stack two seals on top of each other. Longer bolts may be needed. Now you can set the bowl in place, caution: toilet may be unstable initially. Install washers & hex nuts. Apply downward pressure to bowl while tightening hex nuts (alternate sides while tightening) Do not over tighten, bowl or closet flange may crack. These flange facers are mainly used in for generating smooth or serrated finish on the flange butting surface. We have supplied these flange facers to various companies and they are performing to the customer’s satisfaction.
Based on the feedback from the users of our electro-mechanical flange facers, we felt, there is a need for a flange facer which should be compact and light weight. It should be easy to carry and power source required for operation should be easily available.
We took all these factors into consideration and developed a Hand Driven Flange Facer. 70% of the flange facer is made of aluminium which make it light and is hand driven, which eliminates the need for any power source, be it electricity, hydraulics or pneumatic. Since this does not involve any powered source except for human power, this product is fire hazard free and most ideally suited for petroleum, chemical refineries.
This flange facer has a facing range from 25 mm to 310mm i.e. 1” to 12” and has a clamping range of 1” to 6”. The main components of this facer like arm, housing, is cast from Aluminium to make it light. This whole unit weighs under 9 Kgs. Sliding surface is made of LM guides and blocks to provide utmost frictionless smooth movement, keeping in mind the operator’s fatigue. The tool is moved over the LM guides through a leadscrew-box nut arrangement coupled through a worm reduction gear box. The input of the worm reduction gear box has a knob which can be rotated. The box nut is made of phosphorus bronze which creates less friction against the lead screw while rotating. The tool is provided with a single point cutting tool of cross section 10×10 mm. The flange facer will be provided with tool holder have standard ISO carbide inserts, which are easily available in the market. The arm on which the slide unit is mounted is connected to rotatable housing. A case hardened hollow spindle is supported by two deep groove ball bearings inside the housing to provide sufficient stiffness against the radial cutting loads while facing. Inside the hollow spindle, a threaded clamp shaft is provided. The spindle also has 3 slots, where 3 jibs can be mounted. When the clamp shaft is rotated, a taper provided on the shaft pushes the jibs out of the slot equally thereby clamping the facer inside the bore and self-centers the Flange Facers.
